A quick trawl through their archives is required reading for connoisseurs of hysterical paranoia. It’s classic Reds-under-the-bed stuff; In the League’s America, anti-Catholicism is as pervasive and pernicious as influenza, and must be fought on all fronts.
Which doesn’t entirely explain why they’ve got a hate on for The Book Of Daniel, which is, after all, about an Episcopal priest. It’s a convenient cause in the absence of any other, I suppose—a way to keep occupied. After all, if you don’t keep that knee exercised, it won’t jerk when you really need it to.
