No one would ever have mistaken A House for a political band, but there are times when the only proper response to political news is the pure adrenaline rush of tripwire guitars and tumbledown drums and voices all hopped-up and bleary.
The past five years have been all jittery paranoia and Watch Out, You’re Dead. The 2004 elections were a poisonous Christianist hangover; Kick Me Again, Jesus. But now, now, today, here come the lines I thought I’d never sing without irony:
What a great world we all live in!It’s a great world because it is again a world filled with hope.
