Summer 2000. This one’s got a lot of swagger; I assembled it after landing a job that excited me after nine years of stultification at The College. I remember driving a lot to this—I’d just bought a new car, my first with a tape deck, just as tape decks were going out.
This was a good for writing, too—I listened to it incessantly while doing my first NaNoWriMo, in 2001, and the song titles and sequencing, not to mention the energy of it, influenced the structure and mood of the story to a great extent.
