Workout Wednesday: 152 BPM (Run ‘til My Feet Are Raw)

(What is Workout Wednesday?)

No more fucking around, kids. Here’s where we run like we mean it. I’ll use this for a 5k on the treadmill; and the way I’m running it these days, I rarely get past the first 33 minutes.

152 bpm 1: Run ‘til My Feet Are Raw
Slip Kid – The Who
Tulsa TangoRumble Fish OST
Hanging Out and Hung Up On the Line – Julian Cope
Fifteen MinutesJohnny Boy
Like Wow... Wipeout! – The Hoodoo Gurus
David Watts – The Jam
Macbeth – John Cale
Husky TeamThe Outlaws
Demolition Man – The Police
Sometimes
– The Millions
Against The SunEggstone
Actions Speak Louder – Bruce Cockburn
How He Wrote “Elastic Man” – Elastica with Mark E. Smith
(cooldown) Policy Of Truth – Depeche Mode

A lot of old favorites and a few mp3blog finds here. I’ve had the pleasure of rediscovering Stewart Copeland’s work over the last year or so. His soundtrack work, like Danny Elfman’s, has grown over-extended and one-note, but the Klark Kent EPs, the Rumble Fish soundtrack, and The Rhythmatist still crackle with energy and invention.

I love the upbeat rock vibe of this one. It’s all about the violence. I love “David Watts” into “Macbeth,” and the way it makes me feel like King Mob. I still love the raw smash and squawk of “Demolition Man.” ROCK ACTION!

Download this mix (47:59, 43.9 megs: YouSendIt link good until 7 February).

[ MP3 expired - so sorry ]
